Nuclear Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Safety Specialist to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Chief Technical Assurance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical strategy of our Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology division.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in nuclear safety, assurance, and licensing in the nuclear industry, with a strong background in system engineering lifecycle management. They will be able to lead assurance activities, develop innovative safety management solutions, and grow new areas of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Winning work in the defence nuclear sector and designing compelling technical assurance solutions.
- Leading assurance activities, from major project delivery to smaller consultancy tasks.
- Shaping the wider business technical strategy and ensuring that AtkinsRéalis is at the forefront of technical innovation.
- Supporting the growth of the nuclear assurance technical community through training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Providing technical oversight to nuclear assurance projects and maintaining the highest quality standards.
A Master's degree in engineering, science, or maths, or equivalent experience with Chartered or Fellow status, is required. A strong track record in planning and implementing safety case programmes for complex major projects is also essential.
In addition to a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, benefits include flexible working arrangements, employee networks, and a range of family-friendly policies.
