Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing cost estimation, procurement, and contract negotiation, ensuring project financial efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Financial Reporting: Conduct cost analysis and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Project Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage project cash flows and budgets.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant construction regulations and legislation.
  • Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project targets are met.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience (5+ years) in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and best practices.
  • Skills: Proficiency in cost management software and financial reporting tools.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional Membership: Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
  • Driving License: Full UK driving license.
