Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant Older Adult Community Psychiatrist to join their team. This is a permanent position, with a salary range of £105,504 - £139,882 per year.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a qualified psychiatrist with expertise in working with older adults and experience in community-based settings. The role involves providing comprehensive mental health services to patients in Lancaster and Morecambe.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and possess a deep understanding of the complexities of older adult mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide high-quality psychiatric services to patients in the community, focusing on older adults with mental health issues.
  • To collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • To conduct assessments, diagnose conditions, and prescribe treatment as needed.
  • To stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in older adult psychiatry.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a medical degree and be registered with the General Medical Council. A postgraduate qualification in psychiatry or a related field would be advantageous.
