About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our team as a Direct Payment Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Council's vision for independent living and to contribute to the development of Direct Payments as a key facilitator for residents.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) and Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS Adults) applicable to the role of an Advanced Social Worker. They will be committed to working collaboratively with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies to deliver services that are co-produced and inclusive.

The post holder will be responsible for developing expert knowledge of Direct Payments and for leading the implementation of the Direct Payments Moving Forward Plan. They will work closely with the Direct Payments Steering Group and the Direct Payments Support Service to increase uptake of Direct Payments and to improve the experience and outcomes of residents using them.

We are looking for a motivated and autonomous individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Direct Payments Moving Forward Plan
  • Lead the implementation of Direct Payments across the service
  • Work closely with the Direct Payments Steering Group and the Direct Payments Support Service
  • Develop expert knowledge of Direct Payments
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on Direct Payments
  • Build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the PCF and KSS Adults
  • Experience of working with Direct Payments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Autonomy and motivation to lead and implement change
