About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our team as a Direct Payment Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Council's vision for independent living and to contribute to the development of Direct Payments as a key facilitator for residents.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in social work and experience in working with Direct Payments. They will be responsible for delivering services that are co-produced with residents, promoting equality of opportunity, and working inclusively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The role holder will take a key role in right-sizing Direct Payment care and support packages in partnership with residents, promoting and sustaining a learning culture, and providing professional reflective supervision and guidance to less experienced Social Workers.

They will also be responsible for influencing and upskilling other social care staff around the implementation of Direct Payments, providing training to colleagues, and encouraging Direct Payment 'champions' across the service.

The post holder will have a lead role in enabling more people to benefit from Direct Payments, working closely with the Direct Payments Steering Group and Direct Payments Support Service to implement plans to increase uptake of Direct Payments and to improve people's experience and outcomes of using them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver services that are co-produced with residents, promoting equality of opportunity and working inclusively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Experience in social work and working with Direct Payments.
  • Strong background in social work and experience in working with Direct Payments.
  • Ability to work inclusively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to promote equality of opportunity and deliver services that are co-produced with residents.
  • Ability to influence and upskill other social care staff around the implementation of Direct Payments.
