As a Benefits Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals navigating the benefits system. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 or 3 days of office work per week, with the opportunity to work remotely.

Responsibilities

  • ">
  • To provide high-quality advice and guidance to individuals on their benefits entitlement, administered by both national and local government.">
  • To assess claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction in accordance with national legislation and council policies.">
  • To work with clients to resolve queries related to their claim for Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction.">
  • To undertake in-claim/accuracy reviews to ensure the right award is made to the right person at the right time.">
  • To review or supersede decisions where new information has been provided by the client.">
  • To refer claims of suspected irregularity to the Single Fraud Investigation Service and respond to requests for information/evidence and queries from the SFIS, implementing investigation outcome decisions.">

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £36,600 per annum, paid at a rate of £19.02 per hour (PAYE) or £25 per hour through an umbrella company.
