Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of £63,990 (including Market Supplement of £8,195 and Deputy S151 allowance of £2,990). Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and manage our Financial Services function, promoting efficiency, high performance, probity, and excellent value for money services. As the Deputy Section 151 Officer, you will be the technical lead and support the delivery of our Transformation Agenda.

You will assist and report to the Chief Officer Finance & Performance in the operation and development of all financial activities of the Council, playing a crucial role in the delivery of service transformation, driving efficiency and productivity improvements, and optimising income opportunities to contribute towards achieving financial self-sufficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must be a fully qualified member of one of the five accountancy institutes in CCAB or CIMA, with demonstrable experience in a strategic finance role in the Public Sector, preferably Local Government. You should understand the political structure and environment within Local Government and be competent in using financial management systems to produce budget reporting, annual accounts, and financial statements in accordance with the CIPFA Accounting Code of Practice.

You must have sound knowledge and experience of local government accounting relating to relevant Accounting Codes of Practice, Statutory requirements, and grant regimes, as well as awareness of current legislation, including Housing Revenue Account, Capital Accounting, and Treasury Management.
