Job Title: Head of Media Strategy Europe

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Media Strategy Europe to lead our media strategy team in Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing media plans for 22 brands across 7 European markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media planning and strategy, with a proven track record of delivering results-driven campaigns. They will be a strategic thinker, with excellent communication and influencing skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.

The Head of Media Strategy Europe will work closely with our global and local marketing teams to develop top-notch creative work, and will be responsible for managing media agency relationships and ensuring the successful delivery of media partnerships across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute annual media plans for 22 brands across 7 European markets.
  • Lead the media team in Europe, collaborating with brand, sales, insights, and innovation teams to create best-in-class campaigns.
  • Review media performance data with internal and local teams, consolidating insights to apply across the Zone.
  • Lead ROI initiatives in partnership with the Global Analytics Centre.
  • Ensure local teams manage data quality and embed learnings into future media plans.
  • Develop 1- and 3-year media strategies with Zone and Global teams, focusing on innovation (e.g. DTC, branded content, gaming).
  • Drive Europe's Test & Learn agenda to enhance media capabilities and innovation.
  • Partner with Zone Procurement to ensure cost-effective, high-quality media partnerships and manage media budgets with transparency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of nine across seven markets, providing guidance and supporting their development.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in media planning, strategy, and execution.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a proven ability to deliver challenging results and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of driving cross-functional initiatives and simplifying complex processes.
  • Deep understanding of customer, consumer, and brand agendas, with demonstrated business acumen.
  • Experience building relationships and leading teams, with a focus on coaching and developing team capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-agency or cross-functional teams while acting as an owner and demonstrating ABI's core principles.
