Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential settings.

About the Role

  • Provide emotional and practical support to young people in our care, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Develop strong relationships with young people, understanding their needs and goals, and working collaboratively with them to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all young people in our care.
  • Participate in shift work, including sleep-in nights, and contribute to the smooth running of the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily routines, including personal hygiene, meals, and activities.
  • Assist with room cleaning, developing life skills, and promoting independence.
  • Attend medical appointments and provide emotional support to young people.
  • Complete day sheets, work with young people on their targets, and participate in handover documents.
  • Manage daily paperwork, budgeting requirements, and perform daily room checks.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Flexibility in availability for shift work, including sleep-in nights.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

  • A competitive salary of up to £29,357.40 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).
