Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Residential Care Deputy Manager to join our services based in Carlisle.

Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Statement of Purpose is in place and reflects the appropriate needs of young people. This includes managing the effective development of quality direct services to young people, ensuring staff training and development needs are met, and complying with Health and Safety Regulations.

You will also be responsible for regularly inspecting the condition of the building and ensuring all necessary equipment is in good working order. Additionally, you will ensure effective finance budgets, control, administration, and records, as well as promote and implement the company’s Equality and Diversity policies.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues that face young people in care and hold relevant qualifications such as a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People’s Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.

A willingness to undergo a DBS check is essential, and experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is advantageous. You will also require a full, clean UK driving licence and the ability to cover at other Residential Homes.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role also offers a sleep-in allowance of £62.64 per night, shift rotation, 6 weeks annual leave entitlement, company pension, access to wellbeing supports via our Employee Assistance Programme, overtime and additional holiday pay at Christmas Day and New Year's Day, career progression opportunities, and comprehensive annual training.
