Job Description

Barnardo's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in a leadership role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build Trust and Nurture Relationships: Develop strong, trusting relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals to promote independence, wellbeing, and social/emotional skills.
  • Lead and Support Team Members: Supervise and mentor Residential Support Workers to ensure they are equipped to provide excellent care and support.
  • Contribute to a Safe Environment: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of service users at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Document and Record Keeping: Accurately document information and maintain up-to-date records to support the care and support of service users.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Hold a Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or be willing to complete it within the required timeframe.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory and shift leader experience in a residential care setting.
  • Safeguarding: Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility: Commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
