About the Role


As a Youth Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to 12 young people aged 16-21 who are threatened with homelessness, leaving care, or are at risk of harm. You will work closely with the team to ensure the physical, social, and emotional well-being of the young people is achieved.


Key Responsibilities



  • Providing added security, peace of mind, and companionship to young people during out-of-hours time
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of each young person, reporting any incidents or concerns to the relevant authorities
  • Offering empathy and compassion to young people during challenging times
  • Maintaining accurate records using a computer system
  • Communicating effectively with out-of-hour services, including the On Call team
  • Answering phone calls professionally, taking messages, and responding to requests and questions
  • Providing a positive working role model for colleagues and young people
