East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is currently seeking an experienced nurse leader to establish and manage a virtual peripatetic ward team in Colchester. As a Band 6 or 7 nurse, you will have previous experience working in acute settings and possess coaching/mentoring skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the development of the Bures Ward team, providing high-quality nursing care, and establishing effective professional relationships with multidisciplinary teams across the trust.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £56,585 - £81,576, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, employees receive generous pension schemes, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days' annual leave on commencement (pro rata), and access to a range of NHS discounts.

About the Role

  • To establish Bures Ward as a virtual peripatetic ward, teaching nursing and support staff to work to a high level in various acute clinical settings.
  • To provide high-quality nursing care and continuing responsibility for the management of Bures Ward.
  • To provide direction and leadership to the nursing team.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional networking relationships with the multi-professional team across ESNEFT.
  • To work closely with the MDT and educational teams in the overall delivery of a peripatetic ward service.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience at Band 6 within an acute setting.
  • Coaching/Mentoring.

Essential Qualifications

  • NMC Registered Nurse.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to area up to postgraduate diploma level.
  • Student assessor.
