Job Description

We are seeking a skilled transcriber to assist in our efforts to preserve the memories of local people about life in Colchester & District. As a transcription specialist, you will listen to tapes and type the contents of each interview into WORD files.

About the Company

We have been tape-recording the memories of local people about life in Colchester & District for over 40 years. Our archive is based at the University of Essex's Library, where it may also be possible to work.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Ability to use a computer and reasonable keyboarding skills
  • A great interest in recent history
  • The ability to work independently at home or at our premises
Skills and Qualifications

You will need:

  • A high level of accuracy in transcription
  • The ability to work with specialist subjects, such as doctors and nurses
