Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled nursing professional to lead our newly established Bures Ward, a highly versatile virtual team that will support patient care across the Colchester hospital site.

We are seeking an experienced nurse leader with expertise in managing change and developing a safety culture. This role involves providing specialist review of patients requiring Enhanced Therapeutic observations and coordinating its delivery.

The successful candidate will have management responsibility for a team of rotational ward nurses and support workers, providing professional support and specialist nursing advice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the success of our NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish Bures Ward as a virtual peripatetic ward, teaching nursing and support staff to work to a high level in various acute clinical settings.
  • To work closely with the site team to provide support to meet operational demands.
  • To implement and manage effective change management strategies.
  • To be involved in clinical audit and teaching, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience at Band 6 within an acute setting.
  • Clinical expertise and ability to make changes in nursing practice.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a strong focus on patient safety and well-being.
  • Ability to use a range of therapeutic skills and prioritise clinical issues.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £54,329 per annum, plus a range of benefits including annual leave, pension scheme, and access to training and development opportunities.
