Due to the expansion of imaging and diagnostic services at our hospital, we are seeking a skilled nurse to join our Bronchoscopy and Interventional Radiology team. As a key member of our team, you will assist with bronchoscopy and interventional radiology procedures, while also developing your skills in other areas of interventional pulmonology and radiology.
Main Responsibilities- Support and Deputise for Senior Nurse/Charge Nurse: You will work closely with the senior nurse/charge nurse to manage the clinical area, dealing with complex situations and taking appropriate action.
- Continuing Professional Development and Performance Management: You will be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of a group of staff delegated by the senior sister/charge nurse.
- Nursing Care and Leadership: You will direct the nursing care of junior nurses, students, and healthcare assistants, maintaining a high standard of excellent nursing care on your duty shift.
- Role Model and Deputising for Lead Bronchoscopy Nurses: You will act as a role model and deputise for lead bronchoscopy nurses in their absence, directing and supporting staff in complex situations.
- Specialist Nursing Care: You will demonstrate a wide range of nursing expertise in areas of specialist nursing care.

Key Skills and Qualifications- Registered Nurse Nursing Midwifery Registered
- Post-registration respiratory courses (BSc level or equivalent)
- Management/leadership course or equivalent experience
- Nursing diploma or degree
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Experience in 'taking charge' and deputising for senior nurse
- Intra-venous (IV) and drug calculation course
- Ability to support junior staff and lead their development
- Ability to develop skills required to care for patients through different stages in their pathway
- Knowledge and experience of research and audit
- Ability to nurse and manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Ability to apply evidence-based research to nursing practice
- Able to manage and lead difficult situations
- Excellent numeracy and literacy, communication and analytical skills for policy writing/development
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
