Pharmacy Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a rotational Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals. This role is based at Royal Brompton Hospital within our established, developed, and well-resourced pharmacy department. You will work as part of a friendly and supportive team of pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacists.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering the daily workload in Patient Services.
- Assisting to manage the daily workload for Patient Services.
- Assist in the training and development of junior staff.
- Working in the dispensary as an accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT).
- Experience of relevant hospital pharmacy work.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, good customer service, and communication skills.

The Royal Brompton Hospital Pharmacy department is a friendly, welcoming team that supports their staff. We work closely with our counterparts at Harefield Hospital Pharmacy to ensure our patients get the best possible treatment for their lung and heart conditions.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians (or equivalent).
Experience and knowledge
Essential
- Worked in a Pharmacy environment for a minimum of two years.
- Experience in training staff.
- Experience of stock management and top-up service.
Desirable
- Previous Hospital Pharmacy experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and Pharmacy-related stock control applications.
Personal Qualities
Essential
- Proven ability for team working, good interpersonal skills, adaptability, a positive can-do attitude, and a positive attitude to change.
