Bronchoscopy IR Recovery Nurse Royal Brompton Hospital Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Adult Trained Band 6 Nurse to join our Bronchoscopy and Interventional Radiology team at the Royal Brompton Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical management of the clinical area.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Support and deputise for the Senior Nurse/Charge Nurse in the clinical management of the clinical area.
- Be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of a group of staff delegated by the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Direct the nursing care of other junior nurses, students, and HCA's to maintain a high standard of excellent nursing care on your duty shift.
- Act as a role model and deputise for lead bronchoscopy nurses in their absence, directing and supporting staff dealing with complex situations involved in patient care, initiating treatment, and taking emergency action where appropriate.
- Demonstrate a wide range of nursing expertise in areas of specialist nursing care.

Person Specification- Registered Nurse Nursing Midwifery Registered
- Post-registration respiratory courses (BSc level or equivalent)
- Management/leadership course or equivalent experience
- Nursing diploma or degree
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Experience in 'taking charge' and deputising for senior nurse
- Intra-venous (IV) and drug calculation course
- Ability to support junior staff and lead their development
- Ability to develop skills required to care for patients through different stages in their pathway
- Knowledge and experience of research and audit
- Ability to nurse and manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Ability to apply evidence-based research to nursing practice
- Able to manage and lead difficult situations
- Excellent numeracy and literacy, communication, and analytical skills for policy writing/development
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
