We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Development Support Specialist to join our team at RIBBONS AND REEVES, supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in a primary school located in the vibrant area of Tower Hamlets.

About the Role

This is a full-time, term-time position, running until July 2025, with a competitive salary of £23,000 per annum. As a Development Support Specialist, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe and engaged.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preparing and adapting learning materials to suit the needs of individual students
  2. Providing one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN to help them access the curriculum
  3. Creating a supportive classroom atmosphere and managing behaviour effectively
  4. Supporting students with their emotional, social, and physical well-being
Requirements
  1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology or a related field from a top UK university
  2. Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  4. A child-centred approach with a passion for helping children overcome learning challenges
