Youth Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Specialist to join our team in delivering high-quality youth work services across Tower Hamlets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with young people, engaging them in various activities, and providing support and guidance to ensure their holistic development.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of young people, supporting their personal, social, emotional, and educational development. As a Youth Development Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers the Young Tower Hamlets Universal Safe Spaces offer. Your primary focus will be on face-to-face engagement and participation with young people, leading and delivering group work activities, workshops, and trips.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people accessing the Young Tower Hamlets Universal Safe Spaces offer.
- Engage with young people through one-to-one conversations and group work activities, contributing to their holistic development.
- Assist in signposting and referring young people to other universal, targeted, and specialist services where appropriate.
- Support building duties, including opening and closing buildings for session delivery, and undertaking relevant health and safety tasks.
- A recognised Youth Work Qualification (Level 2) or willingness to work towards achieving qualification as part of the probationary period.
- Experience of engaging with young people individually or in groups, demonstrating the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to develop and deliver positive activities facilitating young people's holistic development.
- A competitive salary: £35,814 to £37,437 FTE.
- Up to 31 days annual leave rising to 32 days with 5 years' continual service and 8 bank holidays.
