About the Role

This Perinatal Nurse Educator position at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of women and families. As a key member of our midwifery team, you will be responsible for providing expert care and education to patients, while also supervising and teaching qualified and unqualified staff.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in midwifery practice. A UK recognized Diploma/Degree level or above in Midwifery Practice and current NMC Registration as a Midwife are essential qualifications for this position.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £38,890 - £44,997 per annum, depending on experience, and access to a range of benefits including flexible working, NHS pension scheme, generous annual leave allowance, and commitment to career development.

Main Duties
  • To supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff, acting as a mentor and promoting best practices in midwifery care.
  • To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to women and their babies.
  • To stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in midwifery practice, applying evidence-based knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
