About the Role

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and committed Senior Social Worker to join their team on a permanent basis in a Children in Care Court Team.

The salary for this role is up to £45,204 per annum.

Job Responsibilities
  • Families Support: Engage directly with children, young people, and families, prioritizing the safety of all involved parties. Utilize the Signs of Safety methodology, which empowers families to find solutions while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough and ongoing assessments of social need and risk to children, focusing on parental capacity and potential for change.
  • Risk Indicators: Recognize harm and risk indicators of various forms of abuse and neglect, including Child Sexual Exploitation, grooming (online and offline), Female Genital Mutilation, enforced marriage, and other adult behaviors posing a risk to children.
  • Professional Development: Use reflective supervision, research, and guidance to acknowledge professional limitations and seek advice from Advanced Practitioners and clinical practitioners from diverse disciplines.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work alongside senior staff and managers through available support systems, including supervision, appraisal, mentoring, co-working, and work shadowing.
  • System Navigation: Navigate the family and youth justice systems in England using legal powers and duties to support families, protect children, and care for children within the public system.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Possess a Social Work degree or equivalent qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
  • Registration: Be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of UK legislation relevant to children and families.
  • Experience: Showcase experience working with children, young people, and their families.
