Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Behavioural Support Specialist to work closely with our team of teachers and support staff to provide individualized support to students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, including those with learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, or physical disabilities.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt resources to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Support students during breaks, lunchtimes, and other school activities to ensure their safety and inclusion.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, contributing to the overall development of the school's SEN provision.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure that students receive consistent support and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in special education, including experience working with children with learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, or physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support to students.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs legislation and policies, including the SEND Code of Practice.
