Role Overview:
This position within our Specialist Support Team offers a chance to significantly impact the lives of individuals we assist. We seek a qualified and experienced Lead Positive Behaviour Support Specialist with a proven track record in empowering local teams to implement Positive Behaviour Support methodologies to enhance individuals' quality of life and well-being. Candidates should possess extensive experience in designing, executing, and integrating person-centered assessments and interventions aligned with Positive Behaviour Support principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model and organizational resource on best practices in supporting individuals through a Positive Behaviour Support framework across Certitude Support.
- Assist the PBS Lead in developing training and resources to enhance local competencies throughout Certitude Support.
- Conduct thorough person-centered functional assessments, analyze data, create PBS strategies and plans, and develop implementation plans based on comprehensive mediator analysis.
- Support the enhancement of Certitude Support's local offerings by building capability and competency through mentoring, supervision, and coaching in PBS.
- Contribute to the development of Certitude Support's services for individuals at risk of exclusion from universal services and those at risk of hospitalization.
Candidate Profile:
To qualify as a Lead Positive Behaviour Support Specialist at Certitude Support, the following qualifications are essential:
- Possess a postgraduate qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Behaviour Analysis, Autism/Learning Disability, or an equivalent field.
- Experience in supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism who have complex and challenging support needs across various settings.
- A comprehensive understanding of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and autism, including those with complex health and mental health needs.
- Significant experience in conducting person-centered functional assessments and developing PBS strategies.
- Experience in delivering training and creating resources to enhance team competencies in PBS methodologies.
- Experience in conducting tailored assessments to support individuals transitioning, including those moving from hospital settings to independent living.
