Business Development Manager

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work as a Commercial Manager for Barclay Meade, a leading global defence business. Based in Buckinghamshire, this full-time permanent position offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits.
The role involves leading commercial input for major tenders, preparing quotations, negotiating contracts, and managing them through to completion. You will provide commercial and legal input to all areas of the business, ensuring effective management of commercial issues.
You will engage in business capture efforts, providing assistance and guidance during proposal management and development. Additionally, you will review, draft, and submit proposals, ensuring commercial and contractual aspects are handled appropriately.
Key responsibilities include identifying key contract terms that pose significant risks to the Company, advising senior management on the best course of action, and leading negotiations with customers and partners. You will also advise the Supply Chain Team on flow-down of contract conditions to sub-contractors/suppliers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in managing commercial risk, preferably in a Commercial Management role
- Broad business awareness enabling an appropriate contribution at a senior level
- Proven relevant experience gained in a commercial discipline in a high tech industry, ideally within the aerospace, defence, or other similar technology/technical sectors
- Knowledge of the contract development process, contract terms and conditions is essential for this role
- Eligibility to gain UK SC clearance
