We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school in Mitcham, Southwest London.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real impact on the lives of young learners with special educational needs. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide targeted support in both small groups and 1:1 sessions, helping students to engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support individual students or small groups of children in class, providing tailored assistance and promoting inclusive learning environments.
  • Help children with specific learning or behavioral needs to access the curriculum, fostering positive relationships and encouraging self-confidence and independence.
  • Provide feedback on students' progress and help track their development, working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive environment, promoting social skills and emotional well-being among students.
What We're Looking For
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs and promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, teachers, and parents.
  • An understanding of child development and special educational needs, with experience working with children in a school or educational setting (though not essential).
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
