Substance Abuse Counselor Position

A compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor is needed to assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor will conduct individual sessions and group sessions to aid with crisis management and coping strategies. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals to help patients achieve overall outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual initial assessments and evaluations for service eligibility determination.
- Develop and review treatment plans with each patient.
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessments.
- Provide individual and group counseling services.
- Involve families and significant others in the recovery process.
- Respond to patient grievances and complaints.
- Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science.
- Ability to obtain AAP credentials within 180 days.
- Substance abuse counseling experience and an advanced degree are preferred.
- Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
- Understanding of EMR systems.
- Satisfactory drug screen and background check.
