Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

At GSL Education, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual to provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and external agencies to develop and implement behaviour support plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of SEMH strategies and interventions.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions, with a willingness to learn and develop skills.
