Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly organized and creative individual to join our Radio Bristol team as a Journalism Coordinator. This role will involve working on a range of programmes, including our weekday Breakfast Show with Joe Sims.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Helping prepare and output live radio programmes
• Researching and gathering material for output, assisting production and presentation teams
• Ability to gather content for digital platforms
• Good writing, technical and broadcast skills

Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

You will have:
• Knowledge of the BBC Radio Bristol area – the stories and issues that matter
• A good understanding of the local radio audience
• Experience working in a live radio production environment
• Good editorial judgment and ability to write clearly and accurately
• Highly organized and knows that paying attention to the details really matters
• Knowledge of our editorial and technical systems – willing to learn new skills
• Plenty of ideas and initiative and willing to contribute in meetings
• A great team player
• Happy to work a range of shifts which could include early mornings and weekends
