About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Tesco. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the accurate dispensing of medication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of our pharmacy team, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for our customers.
  • Apply your technical skills and strong customer focus to accurately dispense medication, maintaining attention to detail and accuracy at all times.
  • Provide information and advice to customers on common ailments, symptoms, and products, ensuring they receive a great service and make informed decisions.
  • Assess the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Deal with clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners within your area of competence.
  • Respond to customer queries and complaints, informing the pharmacist of any issues.
  • Ensure all dispensary routines and standard operating procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
  • Support the pharmacy manager and duty pharmacy manager with the supervision and development of other team members, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Maintain a personal development record with the General Pharmaceutical Council and complete corporate and departmental training.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy, ensuring you remain compliant and knowledgeable.

Requirements

  • A pharmacy technician/accuracy checking technician NVQ (or similar) qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
  • Proof of completion of a recognised training course for an Accuracy Checking Technician/Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proof of completing your annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.
