Hachette UK is a leading publisher of books and educational resources. We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant Assistant to join our team in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial reports, account reconciliations, and statutory accounts. They will also be involved in Company Secretarial activities and will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

We are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of SAP or a complex accounting system would be advantageous, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and account reconciliations
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and associated tax workings
  • Assist with Company Secretarial activities
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience of SAP or a complex accounting system (advantageous but not essential)
