Accounts Assistant - Financial Operations

Berry Recruitment is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their team in Didcot, Oxfordshire. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, including sales ledger accounts, customer invoices, and payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage sales ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Generate and distribute customer invoices, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Monitor and record incoming payments, applying them to the correct customer accounts and invoices.
  • Perform regular reviews of the accounts receivable aging report, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Follow up on overdue payments, communicating with customers via phone, email, or written correspondence.
  • Reconcile customer account discrepancies and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly AR reports for management review.
  • Provide detailed reports on receivables status and assist in evaluating the creditworthiness of customers.
  • Implement credit policies and terms for new and existing clients, working closely with the sales and customer service teams.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a finance department, with a focus on credit control and financial operations.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy, with proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
