MEP Construction Manager Job Description

ICDS (UK) Ltd is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to join their team on a major new Data Centre project in Slough, UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement MEP Plans: Create detailed work plans and schedules for MEP activities, aligning them with the overall project timeline.
  2. Coordinate MEP Systems: Work with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure MEP systems are designed and installed correctly.
  3. Review and Approve MEP Designs: Review MEP designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
  4. Oversee MEP Installations: Oversee the installation of MEP systems on-site, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  5. Conduct Quality Checks: Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure high standards of workmanship and material quality.
  6. Manage MEP Subcontractors: Manage MEP subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that they have the resources needed to complete their work effectively.
  7. Ensure Quality and Safety: Ensure that all MEP installations meet the project's quality standards and are completed in line with relevant codes, regulations, and best practices.
  8. Implement Testing and Commissioning: Implement rigorous testing and commissioning procedures to verify the performance of MEP systems.
  9. Identify and Mitigate Risks: Identify potential risks related to MEP works and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  10. Manage Project Costs: Monitor MEP project costs and assist in managing the budget, ensuring that financial targets are met.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in MEP management on large-scale construction projects, data centre experience essential.
  3. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and industry standards.
  4. Proven track record in managing MEP subcontractors and coordinating complex MEP installations.
  5. Proficiency in project management and MEP-specific software tools, such as MS Project, AutoCAD, or Revit.
