Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated pharmacist to join our team as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical pharmacy service and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties:
  • Participate in defined and structured rotations across various settings within pharmacy and clinical specialties, with learning outcomes and training opportunities linked to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Frameworks.
  • Undertake fully funded further study appropriate to the role, e.g., Diploma/Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Non-Medical Prescribing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the safe and effective use of medicines for patients attending and admitted to University Hospitals Plymouth.
  • Work closely with clinical staff to ensure safe prescribing and administration of medicines, including drug history taking, medicines reconciliation, medicine supply, patient medication consultations, medicines optimisation services, and discharge medication service (DMS).
  • Provide expert advice on medications (supply & clinical issues) to clinical staff across the organisation.
  • Teach and clinically supervise pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and practice research projects.

Salary Range: £43,054 - £69,867 per annum
