Job Summary

The PMA Post-Award Engineering team is responsible for delivering high-quality umbilical products to our customers. As an Umbilical Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in analyzing the life cycle performance of umbilical products and ensuring they meet relevant internal, international, and client-driven standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess umbilical design basis against internal standards and create specifications.
  • Analyze the life cycle performance of umbilical products and create calculation packages specific to the umbilical type/design.
  • Provide technical support to design reviews, internal and external clarification meetings, and risk reviews for assigned projects.
  • Ensure work is completed according to agreed guidelines, design rules, and procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and objectives identified by Lead Engineers and Departmental Managers.
  • Identify technical risks and escalate them through more senior engineers where applicable.
  • Highlight required updates of design rules to discipline Technical Authorities and ensure deviations from standard design rules and procedures are carried out in accordance with company change control procedures.
  • Ensure department and company QHS&E objectives and targets are met.
  • Support improvement activities and contribute to the department's Lean initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Subsea Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in umbilical engineering and the wider offshore/subsea industry.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as MathCAD (or equivalent) and Orcaflex.
  • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools such as Ansys and Abaqus.
  • Experience in developing Lean best practices.
  • Experience delivering against challenging schedules in a project management environment.
