About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality geotechnical services to our clients in the offshore energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage geotechnical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise in geotechnical engineering, including ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design.
  • Client Liaison: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities and developing proposals to secure new projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology, or closely related subject, supported by further academic study or practical background in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology in the offshore sector.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience working in a geotechnical engineering environment in the offshore sector, with a focus on seabed infrastructure.
  • Skills: Good working knowledge of ground investigation, geotechnical engineering, and geological processes, as well as proficiency in software such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and proprietary geotechnical analysis software.
  • Professional Membership: Active participation or graduate membership of a professional organization such as the Institution of Civil Engineers, Geological Society, or Society for Underwater Technology.
