Job Title: Residential Design Manager

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a highly skilled Residential Design Manager to join their team. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess lead designer competence to carry out the Building Safety Act PD role.
  • Manage the lead designer and design team to ensure duties as Building Safety Act PD are fulfilled.
  • Ensure compliance with building safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to address any building regulation and/or safety concerns.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks during the construction phase.
  • Keep detailed records of all design and construction activities.
  • Communicate with clients, designers, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders on project progress and safety-related issues.
Requirements:
  • A detailed understanding of the design process in relation to construction projects.
  • An understanding of the Building Regulations and their application to design and building work.
  • Experience in managing a design team throughout the RIBA design stages.
  • Experience working with a project team and driving cooperation among various parties.
  • An understanding of the Principal Contractor's duties to plan, manage, and monitor building work.
  • The right behaviors to drive cooperation throughout the project team.
