**About the role**:
We are looking for someone to drive sustainable continuous improvement activities within the business, by designing, promoting and implementing continuous improvement projects and procedures, and to act as the C.I ambassador to link this function with all other areas within the business, and to perform quality and inspection duties primarily within view room goods inward function.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Execute specific inspections on precision engineered and electrical components
- Manually inspect products with HH measurement tools e.g. Vernier's Height Gauge, Shadow Graphs
- Help managed initial rejection, segregation, and quarantine of none conforming product
- Approve incoming goods/materials by confirming specifications, visual inspections
- Maintain quality records as per company procedures
- Comply with all company Health & Safety and Enviro procedures
- Communicate deficiencies to the quality team and stakeholders
- Assist in maintaining company KPI's and PI's
- Assist in designing and delivering a Continuous Improvement Programme
- Assist in 5 Why Investigations
- Gather and collate data to allow business improvement
- Conduct and report lean system implementation audits
- Communicate with all employees regarding quality, and CI requirements
- Support 5s activities
- Other reasonable duties assigned by the Quality Manager
- Act as the departmental cube / board facilitator

**Education and Qualifications Required**:

- Engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND with electronics background
- Strong IT skills - Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Auditor Qualification (Or willingness to gain one)
- Yellow Belt/Lean Manufacturing/CI/Willingness to learn skills and acquire further education

**Desired Knowledge/Experience**:

- Previous experience within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment
- Previous experience in deployment of CI and Lean Projects
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR's)
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO14001, OHSAS 1800 Management Systems
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Projects
- Familiar with 5s Systems

**Technical Skills/Competencies**:

- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Electronic component recognitions
- Use of measurement tools Vernier's, Height Gauge
- Knowledge of Shadowgraph and CMM Machinery
- Ability to communicate 1-1 or within a team (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to engage with all employees via reasoned and logical debate
- Able to collate and interpret data - statistical process control
- Ability to change mind-set and influence others
- Technical thinker with good problem solving skills

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
