We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Birtwistles Food Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance of all plant and equipment, ensuring that the production plan is achieved, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Implement Maintenance Plans: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the effective maintenance of all plant and equipment.
  2. Ensure Plant and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained and in good repair, and that servicing is carried out within defined timescales.
  3. Manage External Contractors: Manage the services of external contractors to ensure work is completed to company requirements, within defined time scales, and adheres to Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements.
  4. Conduct Regular Equipment Checks: Ensure that all plant and equipment are checked before the start of production.
  5. Review and Improve Maintenance Processes: Review and improve maintenance processes to ensure that they are efficient and effective.
  6. Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to relevant personnel to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate machinery safely and effectively.
  7. Develop and Implement Preventive Maintenance Schedules: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for plant, equipment, and building fabric in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and agreements by the company.
