About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Agent to join our UK Power Networks (UKPN) ED2 Alliance team based in Crawley. As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the on-site delivery of civil construction works for a new substation being constructed by UKPN, ensuring the implementation of Health and Safety procedures and project delivery to the correct specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards, completing weekly inspections, raising observations, and investigating incidents.
  • Produce and review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for all site activities, ensuring they are implemented and amended when required, and completing inductions, RAMS briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Manage subcontractors and direct labor within a multi-trade environment, including procurement and oversight, and holding weekly progress meetings.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections are completed, undertaking duties of Technical Witness and Lifting Appointed Person, and maintaining the Construction Phase Plan.
  • Develop and maintain quality plans, implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), record sheets, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and defects, and contributing to monthly client reporting and progress meetings.
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of NEC3 Contracts, including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events, and proven experience managing civil works contracts.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CSCS/EUSR, SMSTS, CITB Temporary Works, CSCS Appointed Person, and IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to monitor and report against programme and financial requirements, and a willingness to challenge standards to improve quality or value.
