The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate and skilled Cancer Care Specialist to join our team at the Day Treatment Unit, Cancer Centre, Churchill Hospital, Oxford. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of £32,000 - £43,041 per annum.
About the Role
As a Cancer Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to cancer patients receiving chemotherapy or immunotherapy treatments. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our patients receive exceptional care and support throughout their treatment journey.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
* Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the clinical area
* Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other staff members, ensuring seamless care transitions
* Respond to emergency situations with composure, maintaining patient safety and seeking immediate support as needed
* Identify and discuss patient needs with the team, patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team, planning your workload accordingly
* Demonstrate a problem-solving approach to effectively execute planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized plans of care based on a person-centered model of care
* Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times
Person Specification:
* Registered nurse (part 1, 8, 12, or 15 of register depending on area of practice)
* UK recognized Degree in Nursing relevant to post
* Articulate and knowledgeable of skills needed to deliver a high standard of care in the area of practice
* Able to document observations, results, decisions, and actions etc. effectively in patient's notes and communicate these effectively to appropriate members of the multi-disciplinary team
