About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of the Build Environment project at the UK Atomic Energy Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in characterizing and preparing the site for major construction and submitting the Development Consent Order (DCO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination
    • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines to ensure alignment with STEP objectives and timelines.
    • Coordinate project activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Contract Administration
    • Ensure the preparation and maintenance of project documentation and records.
    • Administer NEC4 contracts in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Risk and Change Management
    • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring effective risk management and mitigation strategies.
    • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external partners.
    • Communicate project goals, expectations, and updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
    • Monitor project progress against milestones, changes, exceptions, budgets, and other key performance indicators.
    • Report on project performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Significant experience in senior project management roles within the energy sector or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Ability to understand complex engineering concepts, make informed decisions, and effectively communicate project goals, expectations, and updates to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale, complex projects.
    • Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
    • Advanced financial and resource management skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
  • Desirable Requirements
    • Prior experience with Sensat or similar digital platforms.
    • Background in engineering, construction, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with the UK regulatory environment and standards for large-scale projects.
    • Advanced certifications in project management, such as PMP or PRINCE2.
