Assistant Buyer/Buyer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer or Buyer to join our Footwear department. As a key member of our buying team, you will have the opportunity to impact buying opportunities across our stores, websites, and contribute to the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with our existing supplier base, while identifying new opportunities
- Attend meetings to stay up-to-date on emerging trends and industry developments
- Manage brand relationships with confidence and competence
- Communicate effectively with the supplier base, identifying and resolving any issues
- Work closely with the wider buying teams to understand the department's needs and goals
- Ensure excellent communication and collaboration with other departments within the business
- Support and coach Buying Admin Assistants and interns
- Contribute to category buying strategy and inform consumer-centric decision making
- Take ownership and accountability for a stable of brands, including file management, order books, pricing, and distribution
- Research and present brand, product group, and tribe performance for internal insights
- Raise purchase orders and provide support to other Buyers and Senior Buyers as needed
- Conduct research trips to stores, competitors, and relevant events to provide key information on new trends
