Buying Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Buying Assistant to join our successful Buying team at Footasylum. As a Buying Assistant, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the buying opportunities across our stores, websites, and ultimately the growth of the business.
The role is varied and requires a strong analytical mind, excellent communication skills, and a passion for product. You will be involved in the running of weekly reports, analysis, and communicating this back to your colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade and Product Analysis: Run weekly reports to provide a trade update to specific stakeholders within the company.
- Brand Liaison: Liaise with brands regularly to support the Buyer through the buying period.
- Sales Performance Review: Review sales and discuss the performance of the category.
- Look Book Creation: Create look books and documents for other departments in the business.
- Travel Management: Manage travel for various people in the department for brand trips, store visits, and consumer research trips.
- Research and Development: Research key looks, brands, and discuss potential upcoming styles and trends.
- Competitor Analysis: Carry out competitor analysis.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with various departments across the business to ensure you are the key point of contact.
- Sample Ordering: Sample ordering key lines and communicate with marketing to ensure Footasylum brings to market the best product required.
- Report Generation: Run reports for brand meetings and retail events.
- Ad-Hoc Support: Support the Buyer and wider buying team with ad-hoc duties as and when required.
- Data Collection: Collate key data as directed for meetings.
- Visual Line Planning: Create Visual Line Plans for order sign off.
- Range Planning: Support the Buyer in planning and building ranges.
- Brand Management: Maintain regular contact with global brands and account managers to obtain/provide information about products in the category.
- Administrative Support: Assist with any ad-hoc administrative duties.
About You
You will be a driven, ambitious, and motivated individual who is passionate about product and has a strong analytical mind. You will care about the stakeholders and customers and be interested and enthusiastic about product, including Footasylum's product mix.
Organisational skills are a must, and we always love to see people with a methodical approach to tasks.
You'll need to have a good understanding and stay up to date with key market trends.
