Job Title: University Housing Outreach Assistant

About the Role:
As a University Housing Outreach Assistant, you will serve as a representative of University Housing, providing tours and marketing materials to current and potential students and their families. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your public speaking and presentation skills while gaining valuable experience in marketing and social media.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide informative tours of University Housing facilities to prospective students and guests.
  • Distribute promotional materials and create engaging social media content to promote events and recruit prospective students.
  • Present at information tables, assemble marketing materials, and collaborate with other Outreach Assistants to brainstorm creative ideas for social media and web content.
  • Assist in creating a comprehensive social media calendar and participate in regular team meetings.
  • Perform additional support tasks and projects as assigned by management.


Requirements:
  • Be a current or former resident of University Housing.
  • Maintain student status at UWM with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • Possess exceptional public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Hold a working knowledge of University Housing facilities.
  • Be willing to learn marketing and social media principles.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and enjoy interacting with people.
  • Be responsible, trustworthy, dependable, and mature.
  • Demonstrate substantial multitasking skills and be highly adaptable.
  • Be available to work Outreach Special Events, including some weekends.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in social media, PR, marketing, and/or advertising.
  • Familiarity with office settings and administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
  • Experience in content creation and scheduling for social media.
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and audio/visual equipment operation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or other video-editing software.
  • Experience utilizing WordPress for web design.


Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, employees are eligible for a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Physical Requirements:
The ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand/walk for 20-30 minutes, and move throughout the building without elevators is required.
