Croydon, Greater London, United Kingdom Croydon Council Full time
Key Worker – Early Help – Children Services Grade 8 (£38,934 - £40,755)

About the Role

This position involves providing critical support to families across various levels of need. Our service aims to empower families by connecting them with relevant resources and networks, reducing the likelihood of involvement from Children's Social Care.

We are committed to delivering high-quality support through collaboration and partnership work with families and universal provisions. As a key worker, you will navigate and facilitate access to community services including health, education, and third sector initiatives.

You will work closely with locality management to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality support for families. You will receive regular case supervision to support and guide your work with families.

About You

You will be a skilled and experienced practitioner with expertise in relationship-based work with children, young people, and their families. You will possess a deep understanding of child development principles.

We are seeking individuals who excel at building and sustaining relationships and can effectively engage families who may be hesitant or resistant to working with our service.

The role requires aspects of risk management due to the complex and challenging nature of familial circumstances. As a key worker practitioner, you will collaborate closely with families, management, and wider services to identify potential risks and develop relevant safety plans where necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in making informed decisions that lead to improved outcomes and reduced safeguarding risks.
  • In-depth knowledge of the range of Early Help support available across the continuum of need.
  • Thorough understanding of research and evidence related to child development.
  • Familiarity with statutory services and relevant children's legislation.

What We Offer

  • A highly competitive compensation package (£38,934 - £40,755 per annum).
  • Up to 29-31 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, with an option to purchase additional time off.
  • A pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 20%.
  • Ongoing Continuing Professional Development opportunities to advance your career.
  • Investment in your wellbeing and professional growth.
  • Access to an Employee Discount scheme offering a variety of benefits.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
