Job Title: Business Development Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Associate to join our dynamic team at John McQuillan Contracts Limited. As a Business Development Associate, you will play a key role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with customers, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Securing new business for John McQuillan Contracts Limited, including sales for both laboratory and waste management services.
  • Generating new leads through various channels such as telesales, cold calling, outbound sales calls, and attending exhibitions.
  • Communicating with customers via email, telephone, and in-person site visits.
  • Proactive outbound calls to build and maintain relationships with both new and current customers, with the aim to retain and cross-sell John McQuillan Companies services.
  • Ensuring new sales targets are achieved within your target area.
  • Providing waste and laboratory solutions to a variety of industries.
  • Assisting in the development of the future sales strategy.
  • Managing and resolving customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Administrative tasks including preparing sales quotations, sales reports, scheduling meetings, and handling customer queries.
  • Researching and assisting with procurement exercises for new suppliers and service providers.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the company's services, as well as industry trends and competitors.
  • Supporting the sales team in organizing and participating in sales events, trade shows, and conferences.
Requirements:
  • Previous sales experience preferably within the waste, laboratory, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Laboratory, waste management, or pharmaceutical-based candidate looking to diversify their skills into a commercial role.
  • Excellent communication skills: clear, effective, and authoritative in spoken communication, high standard of written English, able to state a case clearly, logically, and concisely.
  • Ability to work in a team situation.
  • UK driving license is essential.
  • Willingness to travel throughout NI, ROI, and GB.
  • Computer literate.
