Job Summary
As a Senior Buyer for the Baby Department, you will lead a large team of Junior Buyers and Buyers to develop and trade highly commercial ranges that exceed sales and profit targets. You will work closely with Design, Sourcing Offices, and other teams to review, influence, and deliver the global product strategy and ranges throughout the Buying process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Design to interpret and adapt to market trends and direction, ensuring that the conceptual range developed is differentiating and targeted to the needs of the customer.
  • Analyse historical sales in line with trends and design direction to manage product mix parameters, including price architecture, colour balance, shape, and margin.
  • Work closely with other buyers and technical, design, merchandising, marketing, and channel teams to review, influence, and cohesively deliver both the global product strategy and ranges throughout the Buying process.
  • Develop appropriate supply routes and negotiate the best prices and lead times with suppliers to achieve the gross margin buying target.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the buying team and Sourcing Office product merchandisers to promote and foster a global team.
  • Identify and develop talent within the team, benchmarking across GM peer group and promoting movement of people within the business.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the Baby department and lead a large team of Junior Buyers and Buyers. You will be responsible for developing and trading highly commercial ranges that exceed sales and profit targets. You will work closely with Design, Sourcing Offices, and other teams to review, influence, and deliver the global product strategy and ranges throughout the Buying process.
