About the Role

The Dune Group is seeking an experienced Senior Assistant Buyer to join its busy Buying team. This is a great opportunity for a skilled Assistant Buyer looking to take the next step in their career or a current Senior AB seeking a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong commercial awareness and stay up-to-date with competitor activity.
  • Develop and present commercial ranges under the supervision of the Buyer, reacting positively to feedback and taking responsibility for the trading of those ranges.
  • Understand trading figures and their impact on the business, suggesting recommendations to the Buyer.
  • Foster excellent communication with suppliers, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor product cycles, from development to order negotiation.
  • Stay knowledgeable about current and future ranges.
  • Develop strong negotiation skills and confidently present ideas.
  • Manage BAAs, ensuring priorities are met and development needs are addressed.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Assistant Buyer within a footwear retailer or supplier.
  • Proven delegation, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interaction with other departments within the Dune Group.
  • Initiative and enthusiasm for the role.
  • Ability to manage up and down the organizational structure.
  • Deputise for the Buyer when needed.
  • Present oneself professionally at all times.
