Job Summary

This is a critical role within the The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requiring an experienced Estate Maintenance Leader to oversee the upkeep of all properties. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of maintenance tasks across various sites.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular condition surveys and inspections to identify potential issues and develop strategies for repair and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules to ensure compliance with legislation and efficient use of resources.
  • Supervise a team of skilled Estates craftspersons, semi-skilled grounds staff, and other professionals to deliver high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement redecoration programs and statutory inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire-resistant door sets.
  • Design, manufacture, and install bespoke furniture and equipment as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field (e.g., estates management, building services engineering).
  • Comprehensive post-apprenticeship experience, preferably in healthcare facilities management.
  • Qualifications in supervisory management and/or relevant certifications (e.g., HNC, City & Guilds).

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £44,661 per annum, commensurate with experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including pension scheme, life insurance, and generous annual leave entitlement.
